Organic waste buried in landfills takes up landfill space and releases methane, contributing to greenhouse gases.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p><h4><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Who must comply?<\/span><\/h4><ul><li>Residents<\/li><li>Commercial businesses<\/li><li>Commercial food generators<\/li><li>Schools<\/li><li>Government entities<\/li><\/ul><p>California Senate Bill (SB) 1383 requires all businesses and multi-family complexes to arrange for recycling and organic waste recycling services (<em>i.e<\/em> food waste and green waste). Certain commercial businesses and multi-family dwellings of five or more units may qualify for waivers from organic waste requirements. If a waiver is not approved by the City, your property will be required to comply with all SB 1383 mandates.<\/p><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a
