Elected City Clerk, Amelia Villegas

Born in Santa Maria, raised in Guadalupe.
Escuelas: Guadalupe Elementary, Righetti High School, Allan Hancock College, Cal Poly. Obtuvo una licenciatura en administración de autobuses
Vivió en San Bruno, Manhattan Beach, Nueva York y San Francisco.
Trabajó en San Francisco, Los Ángeles, Nueva York, Oakland, Novato y Napa.
Carrera: Recursos Humanos
Después de vivir fuera durante 30 años, regresó a Guadalupe y se jubiló de la Ciudad de Guadalupe después de 13 años como el primer Gerente de Recursos Humanos.
Soy fanático de los Dodgers de toda la vida. Firme defensor de la Biblioteca Guadalupe y la alfabetización. Presidente de los Amigos de la Biblioteca Guadalupe. Representante de Guadalupe ante el Comité Asesor de Bibliotecas del Condado de Santa Bárbara. Disfrute de caminatas y carreras de 5 y 10 km aquí en el Valle de Santa María y San Francisco.

Offices to be Elected

The following City offices are up for election as part of the November 5, 2024 General Municipal Election:

  • Mayor – (2-year term ending Dec 2026)
  • City Council Member (4-year term ending December 2028)
  • City Council Member (4-year term ending December 2028)
  • City Clerk (4-year term ending December 2028)

Nomination period

Nomination Period for these offices begins on Monday, July 15, 2024, and closes on Friday, August 9, 2024. Between those dates, candidates must obtain and file nomination papers in the City Clerk/City Administrator’s Office. If nomination documents for an incumbent officer of the City are not filed by Friday, August 9, 2024, non-incumbents have a five (5) day extension period (August 14, 2024) in which to file nomination documents and candidate’s statement pursuant to Election Code 10407.

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Resident of Guadalupe
  • A registered voter in the City of Guadalupe at the time Nomination Papers are issued.
