Notice of Recruitment: Royal Theater Oversight Committee

The City of Guadalupe is moving forward with the renovation of the Historic Royal Theater. This transformative project is being funded through a combination of multi-million-dollar grants, city funds, and a dedicated capital campaign.

The City Council is seeking five individuals to serve on the Royal Theater Oversight Committee.  This is an advisory body that is subject to the requirements of California’s Ralph M. Brown Act, meaning that all meetings are open to the public and subject to public notice requirements.  Members must submit certain financial information to the Fair Political Practices Commission (Form 700) and must also complete two hours of governmental ethics training as required by state law.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be residents of the City of Guadalupe or have a demonstrated connection to the community (such as business ownership, cultural involvement, or relevant professional experience). Individuals with experience in arts, historic preservation, community development, nonprofit management, or economic revitalization are especially encouraged to apply.

Time Commitment:

Committee members are expected to attend regular public meetings (typically monthly), review materials in advance, and participate actively in discussions and subcommittees as needed.

How to Apply:

Interested individuals should complete and submit the letter of interest by email to David Trujillo at dtrujillo@ci.guadalupe.ca.us. Letters must be received by Monday, November 24, 2025 at 3 PM.
